When oxygen is being used in hospitals, it needs to be monitored very carefully. Physicians are responsible for ordering oxygen therapy, as well as fill out the prescription indicating the flow rate of the oxygen and when the patient will need to use the oxygen. Nurses are responsible for assessing the patient, ensuring the oxygen therapy is being used as prescribed by the physician, monitoring oxygen delivery systems, and possibly recommending changes in therapy.
Nurses and doctors are also familiar with pulse oximeters. Those working in old age homes, hospitals, or more specifically working alongside patients with diabetes would be fairly familiar with them. As well as nurses, doctors, pharmacists, etc., firefighters and paramedics would also have to be familiar with the use of oxygen in case of emergencies. Oxygen masks are often used in the back of a paramedic's van to help stabilize a patient. |
Oxygen tank manufacturers start by making the cylinder tank out of aluminum. The tank is put through a two step thermal process called "solution heat treat and artificial aging". The next step is the neck configuration. To finish the tank, it is subjected to hydrostatic testing, marked for identification, painted, filled with oxygen, then either capped or equipped with a valve.

Since Oxygen Plants are a factory workplace, there are many jobs involved. For example, utility engineers, supervisors, machine operator's, etc.
Professional scuba divers use oxygen tanks on a daily basis. In order to dive to such depths of the ocean must have air to breathe. A scuba tank more or less mimics "the human lung to provide breathable air at a suitable pressure under the water".
